The Finance and Administration department provides Budgetary, HR, Administrative, and Information Technology services to the programs and contracts that SER has been awarded.

Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Youth Services

SER Jobs for Progress, Inc. is a sub grantee of the Northern Area Local Workforce Development Board (NALWDB). This program reduces the high school dropout rates and increases student achievement through the application of individualized instruction, employability/life skills training, work experience opportunities and essential training in information technology. This is a USDOL/ETA funded project funneled through the NALWDB.

State Appropriated - General Fund Youth Grant

SER is designated as an employment and training program service provider under sub-grant with the State of New Mexico, Department of Workforce Solutions. This program provides at-risk students with an individualized education plan designed to attain remediation of academic deficiencies. Through the use of computer technology students raise their academic skills, research career opportunities, complete employability skills training and participate in paid work experience activities. This is not an ETA funded program; however, it supports the mission of ETA-WIA services in that it provides for services not funded by the WIA. That is, this program assists at-risk youth that do not totally qualify under the WIA, yet are disadvantaged.

Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS) Instruction Program

SER has a formal agreement with the Santa Fe Public School District (SFPS) to provide viable alternatives to students at risk of dropping out of school. SER assists the SFPS District in the implementation and delivery of educational programs including the operation of the Academy and continuation of GED preparation services and Early Childhood Development (Day Care) services. This is not an ETA funded service, however, it provides support services to students in obtaining the educational and employment skills they otherwise would not obtain due to the need for child care and/or GED instruction.

City of Santa Fe

SER is a City of Santa Fe sub-grantee. SER provides an on-site childcare program for children of teen parents who are enrolled in the GED and SFPS Career Academy. This funding is not ETA. The funding primarily supports pregnant individuals and/or teen parents to obtain employability.

WIA One-Stop

SER serves as a One-Stop contractor to the Northern Area Local Workforce Development Board. SER manages and operates the One-Stop career centers in ten counties of Northern New Mexico. The services that are provided are: One-Stop management services, gateway services, career guidance services, case management, and business services. In order to comply with the WIA and provide productive and integrated services some of the One-Stop operations will eventually include partner organizations. This is a USDOL/ETA funded activity. SER provides employment and training services accessible to all customers of the Northern Region including job seekers, employers and partner organizations. The One-Stop locations are: Espanola, Farmington, Gallup, Grants, Las Vegas, Raton, Santa Fe and Taos and includes itinerant services in Los Alamos and Mora.

Workforce Connection of Central New Mexico

The Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG) serves as the Administrative Entity and Program Operator for the Workforce Connection of Central New Mexico (WCCNM). SER works as a service provider (contractor) for MRCDOG to manage a business-driven, integrated workforce system. The SER business consultants work with MRCOG Industry Representatives to address the workforce needs of businesses in Priority Industries and to respond to requests from all other businesses. SER provides demand-driven services which meet the needs of businesses and job seekers for high paying, high skilled jobs, and contribute to the Central Area’s economy. We deliver adult, dislocated worker services in accordance with Title I of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and provided through each of the established Business and Career Center locations in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia Counties.

Children, Youth, and Families Grants

SER is a sub grantee to the State of New Mexico to provide Child Care services to infant and toddler participants in our main office Child Development Center. This service is provided to enable students with children to attend the GED program or the Career Academy, thus obtaining employment skills, educational achievement skills, and other career preparation activities. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredits the Child Development Center. The Child Development Center is also accredited as a Five-Star Licensed center through AIM HIGH. This is not ETA funded, but the program operates as a supportive service that enables individuals to find employment in the long run.
